Tyler Lee Hoechlin is an American actor who got his big
break in playing the role as the son of Tom Hank’s in the film Road to
Perdition. In television, he is best known for his role as Martin Brewer on 7th
Heaven and the latest is in Teen Wolf, he is known in the character of Derek
Hale.
He was born on September 11, 1987 in Corona California, U.S.
to Lori and Don Hoechlin. He also has two brothers, Tanner and Travis and a
sister Carrie. Hoechlin began playing baseball at the age of seven. He played
infield for Arizona State University and the Battle Creek Bombers of the
Northwoods League. In 2008, he played infield for the UC Irvine Anteaters.
Hoechlin was nominated for a 2004 Teen Choice Award for
Breakout Male Star. He starred in the 2007 David DeCoteau film Grizzly Rage and
was in the 2008 movie Solstice. He also starred in an episode of Castle in its
second season. He appeared alongside Owen Wilson and Christina Applegate in the
2011 movie Hall Pass. He also plays werewolf Derek Hale in the television
series Teen Wolf. He was ranked on TV’s Sexiest Men of 2011 by BuddyTV.
-Derek Hale-
As a teen, Derek lived in Beacon Hills, California with his
family. While still in high school, he entered into a relationship with Kate
Argent. He was ignorant that Kate was only sleeping with him to get to close to
his family.
She later, with the help of several schemers, orchestrated
an arson attack at the Hale House in which most of Derek’s family was killed.
His uncle, Peter Hale who was badly burned, got out while the others in the
home died. Derek and his sister Laura Hale were at school when the fire was
set. The fire is the influential event in the young man’s life defining much of
his behavior throughout the first season of Teen Wolf.
Derek has triple
spiral or triskelion tattoo on his back.
